According to the latest reports, Chennai City Civil Court has dismissed the petition filed by director KP Selva against director Atlee. It is known that Selva has accused Atlee of plagiarising his story for 'Bigil'.

'Bigil' is the third collaboration of Thalapathy Vijay and Atlee after 'Theri' and 'Mesal'. Now, KP Selva, a member of the South Indian Film Writers' Association complained to the Chennai City Civil Court saying that 'Bigil' is based on his story, which he had already registered with the union. He requested them to postpone the release of the movie. But now, the petitioner himself wanted to withdraw the case, as he intends to file a new suit later. However, the court has dismissed the case saying no fresh suit can be filed.

Bigil stars Nayanthara as the female lead. Jackie Shroff, Kathir, Vivek, Daniel Balaji etc in the crucial roles. 'Bigil' is AR Rahman's musical slated for Diwali release.
