Mohanlal film deferred till 2021

With a star cast which is multi-lingual including Sunil Shetty from Hindi cinema, Arjun and Prabhu from Tamil and a range of beautiful faces from Keerthy Suresh, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshanetc, the 100- crore budgeted Mohanlal starrer 'Marakkar: ArabikadalinteSimham' is now deferred for a release in 2021. The 'Lalettan' fans will have to wait for a longer period now.
The heavy budgeted venture, which began in December 2018 was scheduled for release on March 26, 2020. The overseas rights have been sold and the film was ready to hit the theatres worldwide when coronavirus struck.
Since the OTT platform is definitely unviable for the mammoth movie that it has turned out to be, the most prudent decision has been to defer its release by a few months, hoping that normalcy returns by then.
Mohanlal has a lot at stake on this film as it is going to be the most expensive Malayalam film ever made. His son Pranav also is featuring in it and it is being directed by Priyadarshan, an old associate and friend of the star with whom there have been many hits over the years for him.
