Gradually, as the 'new normal' phase dawns on India, cinema theatre owners in Tamil Nadu, where activities have already started rolling out slowly are ready to embrace the changes.

In a statement released to the media, they have agreed to reduce the ticket prices, maintain social distance and other

protocols to ensure that the viewers get their exciting big screen experience.

In a bid to protect the livelihoods of nearly 50000 people who are dependent on the entertainment industry, the owners also have put forth a set of conditions which are concessions being sought from both the Centre and State governments.

From GST reduction to waiving 50 per cent on power tariffs and other taxes by the municipal bodies, they have made a set of appeals to ensure that theatres and multiplexes start functioning again. Now the government has to respond.
