Dhanush has a way with movies. His choice of roles is something that is often discussed by not only his fans but also critics. His last movie was Asuran in which Dhanush portrays a very powerful role. The Vetrimaaran movie revolves around the life of a Dalit family. Manju Warrier plays the female lead. Incidentally, the movie marks the Tamil debut of the Malayalam actress. And guess what? Asuran is now streaming on OTT. Yes. You got that right. Amazon prime video bought the rights of the movie sometime back.
Asuran was released on October 4 and joined the elite 100 crore club in no time. The movie is now streaming live on Amazon Prime Video. This, even while a few theatres in Chennai are still showing the movie in theatres.
Asuran is an adaptation of the Tamil book Vekkai authored by Poomani. The film received a lot of critical acclaim. Dhanush collaborated with the director previously for Vada Chennai, the sequel is in works right now. GV Prakash scored the music in Asuran which was produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu.
