Natural star Nani whose previous outing 'Devadas' turned out to be a disaster at the box office joined hands with 'Malli Raava' fame Gautam Tinnanuri and is going to come up with a sports drama 'Jersey'. The movie is going to feature Nani as a cricketer. The teaser and trailer of the film has already hinted that the movie is going to have high emotional content as well. The movie has been carrying a decent pre-release buzz. Shraddha Srinath romanced Nani in this movie which is also going to mark her Tollywood. The movie bankrolled by Sithara Entertainments has hit the screens today on April 19, 2019. Here is the review of the movie.

Story:

Arjun (Nani) is a cricketer who's disappointed that he was not selected for India twice. With a fear of not getting selected the next year, he choses to eliminate cricket from his life. What happens then? What problems did he face? Will he ever choose cricket again? Forms the story of the movie.

Performances:

Nani has delivered a commendable performance and can be considered as one of the major highlights. His outstanding performance added more strength to the film. His finest performance is one of the major factors that will keep the audience stick to their chairs. His performance in the emotional scenes will melt the hearts. Shraddha Srinath delivered a beautiful performance. Not only as a teenager, but Shraddha Srinath has also delivered her best performance in the wife character as well. Sathyaraj has went into the skin of the character and delivered a memorable performance. Sampath Raj got a meaty role in this film and also impresses the audience with his performance. Praveen did a convincing job. The rest of the cast also made their presence felt.

Technical Aspects:

Gowtham Tinnanuri has prepared an emotional story which will create an impact on the audience. His storytelling skills are exceptional and the director has succeeded in engaging the audience from the start to the end. More than the actors, we can see the characters designed by Gautam and a beautiful story weaved around them. Production values by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments banner are luxurious. Music by Anirudh Ravichander is extremely good. A couple of songs are good and his BGM is impressive. Cinematographer Sanu Varghese has produced some sleak visuals for the film. Naveen Nooli's editing is good. Overall, the technical team did a good job.

Verdict:

The movie starts off an interesting note and the first half is filled with some light emotional and movements and character introductions. The interval bang is awesome. The emotional content in the second half will be increased. Though some of the emotional sequences are somewhat boring, Nani's stunning performance will cover it all. Especially, the train station scene is done really well and can be considered as one of the major highlights of the film. The climax is outstanding and one of the best ending scenes in recent times. Overall, 'Jersey' is a must watch film.
