The Lucknow lad, Amit Mishra has already been singing for Hindi films; some really good ones and it was just like any other call from the studio. He was going to sing a song composed by one of his most favourite music directors and inspiration, Pritam. The first day he went and sang; the music director liked his style, but then Amit had to sing atleast three more times before the final recording happened. And then the film released and the song caught up like it was on fire. The song 'Bulleya' from the film, 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' acquired became the anthem, and that one song every young singer dreams of that catapults him into the big league in just one big sweep.

Amit Mishra was not made in a day. He harboured a love for music since when he was a child and in the school too, he chose music as one of his subjects. He continued to study music in the university, learned classical music and has also acquired training in light music and western vocals, and since then he has not stopped learning.

"My idols in music are the legends like Rafi saab, Kishore da, and in later years Sonu Nigam, Shaan da, and the many young singers and musicians like Pritam da, AR Rehman, Shankar Mahadevan sire, Vishal Sekhar, Saleem Suleiman, and the wonderful music they have made have all been inspiring to me. You learn something new every day," shares Amit Mishra on the eve of the World Music Day 2020. On the occasion of World Music Day singer Amit Mishra will be performing for the online concert 'Music Beyond Borders' presented by MTV and MTV Beats along with 24 other artistes. He calls it an amazing opportunity and platform to connect to his fans and appreciates the music channel for promoting music and musicians.

In the last few years Amit has delivered many popular songs and says it is important to be original, to constantly work with your voice, polish your vocals, and do a lot of practice to be noticed as a good singer. "Being a good listener can help you in terms of music," he says.

He shares his plans for this year, "I am working on some music which I plan to release soon. I am looking forwards to more studio sessions and delivering some good songs for the audience too," he adds, "Independent music is good and should happen, but it must feature our regional music more prominently. India is a treasure house diverse music and we must take from it while creating independent music."
