Actor Ram fined for smoking at no smoking zone
The South Zone Charminar police on Monday fined Tollywood actor P Ram for smoking at historical monument Charminar.
Hyderabad: The South Zone Charminar police on Monday fined Tollywood actor P Ram for smoking at historical monument Charminar.
According to N Buchaiah, SHO, Charminar police station, Ram while shooting for his upcoming movie at Charminar smoked in no smoking zone and was caught on the spot by the police.
The actor was charged under The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003 and fined Rs 200. Ram was shooting for his upcoming movie 'iSmart Shankar' at Charminar along with Charmi Kaur.
The movie is directed by Puri Jagannadh. Despite putting up boards warning the public not to smoke at public places, people continue to smoke ignoring the warning by police.
The police are conducting special drives regularly in different places of the twin cities.
