Reigning star Nani is teaming up with ace director Vikram K Kumar for his upcoming movie 'Gang Leader' which is slated for release on September. In a chit chat with media on Friday, Nani opens up about his role and the movie.

"Me and Vikram were discussing a few story ideas and finally zeroed in on this entertainer because I liked the plot. As I began shooting for 'Jersey', Vikram worked on this script and we started shooting immediately after 'Jersey'.

Talking about Vikram style of filmmaking, Nani adds, "Vikram is a simple and good story-teller and even the twists and turns in the movie are relatable.

I would describe 'Gang Leader' as one of the most entertaining movies in recent times." After playing a cricketer in 'Jersey', Nani would be playing an author in this movie.

"I play Pencil Parthasarathy which is my pen name. I write a lot of books but nothing is sold in the market, still I behave like a renowned author which is bound to evoke a few laughs," he points out.

Sharing his thoughts on using Chiranjeevi's title 'Gang Leader,' he informs, "It was suggested by Vikram. When I was prepping for my role in 'Jersey,' one day Vikram came to me and said that he has decided gang leader as the title. I agreed to it, since it suits our subject."

Justifying the reason for casting young hero Karthikeya as villain in a laugh riot, he adds, "Although there are fights and punchlines but the revenge drama is narrated in a comic way.

Kartikeya's role has lot of significance in the movie. We felt Karthikeya would be apt for the role but weren't sure whether he would agree or not. But he said ok, as soon as he heard the storyline from Vikram.

He will receive applause for his role and performance," Nani has few good words for producers as well, "Already, this production house churned out big movies. They didn't compromise on the budget and helped us in delivering a richly-mounted movie.

He claims that composer Anirudh has lot of 'energy' which reflects in his chartbusters. The actor is extremely happy with 'Jersey' since the experiment paid off in a big way.

"It is an experiment that breached many a boundary and registered big collections. I'm not interested in bilinguals for now," he signs off.
