Reigning star Varun Tej has reportedly allotted additional 15 to 20 days for his ongoing film 'Valmiki' since he didn't want to compromise on his challening role.

"Varun didn't mind alloting more days because he was doing a role with dark shades for the first time in his career and didn't want to take any chances," says an industry source.

After playing soft lover boy roles in films like 'Tholi Prema' and 'F2', the son of Nagababu went in for a makeover to fit into to the role of Tamil actor Bobby Simha in the Tamil remake.

"Varun Tej will be sporting a new look in the film. He can be seen sporting a beard with a scar on his face as he plays a gangster in the movie. He is giving full support to the vision of director Harris Shankar," adds the source.

Meanwhile, the gen-next star is flooded with offers but he is signing films with good scripts.

"Varun has refused few offers since his focus is on good scripts over big money," the source points out. The actor is reporteldy drawing Rs 6 crore per film, but he is not fascinated with fancy offers.

"More than remuneration, he is looking for different and interesting roles, that will keep him in good stead," the source adds.

No doubt, the stocks of hotshot Varun Tej are soaring high these days.

"He is one of the few Telugu stars would can fit into an lover boy role as well as in action role and now a dark role to expand his brand equity.

He is also working hard on his looks to fit into roles, showcasing his commitment and professionalism." concludes the source.
