Amaravati based Vellore Institute of Technology, School of Business (VSB) held its first-ever heritage exhibition presented by second year BBA students on Wednesday at the University Campus with the theme, "Discovering Rural India and Heritage sites"

Amaravati: Amaravati based Vellore Institute of Technology, School of Business (VSB) held its first-ever heritage exhibition presented by second year BBA students on Wednesday at the University Campus with the theme, "Discovering Rural India and Heritage sites" The exhibition was graced by Vice Chancellor of VIT-AP University Dr. D. Subhakar and VIT-AP School of Business Dean, Dr. Jeyavelu. Dr. Madhulika Sahoo, Assistant professor coordinated the exhibition.

The exhibition welcomed all university community at large. Consistent with the University's (VSB) application of learning through liberal arts, the exhibition displayed of the students work and findings of their summer fieldwork projects on Discovering Rural India and Heritage sites.

Projects largely dealt with different heritage sites such as Undavalli caves, Kondavedu fort, Prakasam Barrage, Thousand pillars, Warangal fort, Golconda, Chowmahalla Palace, Mahabalipuram.

Students were instructed to work for 15-20 days with different communities and heritage sites such as Kondapalli toy making community, Vijayawada, Mangalagiri weaving community, Guntur, Pochampally weaving community, Telengana, Duggriala turmeric yard, Guntur and fishing community in Thukulpalem, Nellore to understand the rich culture that these community represent through arts and crafts. Students studied the livelihood they make through toy, weaving saree, producing turmeric and selling fish. Students display different artifacts collected from these communities and exhibited to share their rich experience with the university.
