Hyderabad: Mother's Day so far was like any other day for these 20 orphan girls from Cherish Home from Kismathpur, Rajendranagar in Hyderabad city. But, this Mother's Day was different for them. The twenty orphan girls, all under 15 years, enjoyed love and luxury on Mother's Day, thanks to an initiative of freemasons and a star hotel in Hyderabad. The event was organised as part of "Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Lodge Keys No. 297."

The two organisations, with the support from many likeminded individuals and organisations, conducted the "Star Hotel Dining Experience" for these less fortunate children on Saturday evening at IBIS Hotel, Madhapur in the city.

The orphan children were brought in cars from Rajendranagar on the outskirts of Hyderabad. On arrival, the hotel reception team extended them the traditional welcome and treated them with welcome drinks.

Then they interacted with Lodge Keys members, their spouses, guests, and the hotel staff. Guests and the parentless kids were taken on a round inside the hotel. The hotel staff accompanied by Lodge Keys members explained to the girls how the star hotel functions. After the trip, a magic show was also performed to entertain them.

The mothers who had already assembled were divided into three teams and grouped with the chefs to prepare evening snacks for the kids. Around twenty mothers who are spouses of freemasons got together with chefs and prepared food items. The orphan kids were treated to welcome drink, sweet lassi, mini veg burgers, creamy pasta with vegetables and pineapple cake.

The dishes were especially prepared for them, said the hotel authorities. They also posed for a group photograph. Spouses of freemasons made snacks and memories for orphans on the eve of Mother's Day. It is a memorable day for all those who associated with this event described the three 'masonic guests' Assistant Regional Grand Masters, Regional Grand Lodge of Southern India Praful K Sahgal, S Janaradhan and John Zacharia.

The theme for this year's celebrations is "Be the Reason Someone Smiles" informed G Ashok, Worshipful Master, the head of the Lodge Keys No. 297. This is an event where members of Freemasonry, the fraternal organisation showed their 'maternal' side and celebrated Mother's Day with orphans, said D Ramchandram, Secretary, Lodge Keys No. 297.

The Freemasons who participated include P Veerabhadrudu, Gunda Sreenivas, Radheyshyam Tiwari, Raghju Anantoj, Seshu Kumar, B Nagraj, SubbaRajuPericherla, M. Santhosh, Aju Abdul Karim, Manvendra Mishra, G Vidyakar, Y. Lakshminarayana, S Bhaskar and others include HariKishan, Vijay Kumar, Ritesh, Shrikanth and Sunil Muppirishetty.
