Sai University holds third convocation

Chennai:Sai University held its Third Convocation at its campus in Chennai, where degrees were awarded to 72 graduating students from the School of Computing and Data Science and the School of Arts and Sciences.

Of the graduating students, 50 were from the School of Computing and Data Science and 22 from the School of Arts and Sciences. The ceremony also saw the presentation of three Gold, three Silver and three Bronze Medals for academic distinction.

Padma Bhushan Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, attended as Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation Address. He spoke about the changing economic and technological environment, including the impact of artificial intelligence, technology and regulatory developments.

Chandrasekaran encouraged graduates to focus on long-term goals while also working towards shorter-term achievements. Drawing on the example of marathon running, he advised students to measure their progress against their own performance and focus on continuous improvement.

The convocation was presided over by Founder and Chancellor K. V. Ramani. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ajith Abraham presented the University’s Annual Report and highlighted the importance of lifelong learning as graduates enter a changing professional environment.

The event was attended by guests from academia, industry and public life, including Dr K. P. Krishnan, Prof. Sandeep Sancheti, Pradeep Udhas and M. K. Santhanaraman.

During the ceremony, the University also released Pursuit: Where Research Meets Innovation, a compendium documenting research undertaken at Sai University between 2020 and 2025. In his address, Prof. Abraham said graduates would need to combine technological skills with human qualities and learn to work alongside AI while keeping technology aligned with broader human needs.
