Bengaluru: Extending solidarity with their counterparts in Delhi taking part in the 'Dilli Chalo' agitation, farmers and members of several associations assembled here on Monday condemning "police violence" on protesters in the national capital.

In the protest organised at Maurya Circle by 'Aikya Horata', coalition of farmers, workers and Dalit groups, protesters demanded an end to the "harassment" of farmers in the country.

"It is the agrarian community that helped the country from a deeper economic crisis even amid the lockdown due to the pandemic. In spite of this, with no gratitude and support offered, the government is rolling out new debatable farm laws causing anxiety, dissatisfaction, and dissent among the farmers," a statement from Aikya Horata read.
