Bengaluru: Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has found unauthorized water and sewer connections in several areas of the city during a recent inspection.
The deadline for regularisation of connections has been extended to December 31 from November 30.
In a release, the BWSSB said that many unauthorized connections have been removed following the failure of building owners to apply online for regularization.
"If the application is submitted through online for regularisation, the connection will be restored
immediately without levying any penalty. However, the owners of the buildings whose water and sewer connections have been removed will be liable to be fined according to the BWSSB Act. It has been intimated that a complaint will be lodged at Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF), if not regularized the connections by December 31."
