Chittoor gets mobile forensic vehicle to strengthen crime investigation
Chittoor: Chittoor district has received a District Mobile Forensic Vehicle to strengthen the collection and examination of forensic evidence during criminal investigations under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act, 2023.
Superintendent of Police Tushar Dudi, Non-Cadre SP SR Rajashekar Raju and other police officials inspected the mobile forensic vehicle allotted to the district at the Chittoor Armed Reserve office.
The officials examined the scientific equipment installed in the vehicle and reviewed its functioning.
The mobile forensic vehicle is equipped with scientific instruments, LCD screens and other modern equipment required for collecting physical evidence at crime scenes. It can be used to conduct preliminary examinations of blood samples and other evidence at the spot, helping forensic personnel carry out immediate analysis and provide preliminary reports at the scene itself.
The facility is expected to be particularly useful in serious criminal cases involving punishment of seven years or more.
By enabling scientific evidence to be collected and examined at the crime scene, the vehicle can help investigators establish facts more quickly and improve the chances of identifying and prosecuting offenders.
The mobile forensic facility is also aimed at reducing delays in the examination of evidence and strengthening the quality of investigation. Timely collection and analysis of forensic evidence can help police build stronger cases and improve the conviction rate.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Tushar Dudi said the forensic vehicle would help police make better use of technology in crime investigation. He said the facility would contribute to efforts to prevent crime and ensure speedy justice to victims.
