Osmania University: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) staged novel protest by removing shirts in front of Arts College here on Monday, demanding increase in the number of fellowships to OBC students.
They criticised the Central government's negligent attitude towards education. "Universities in both the Telugu states have got less than 40 fellowships. A100-year-old Osmania University has got less than six fellowships," they stated demanding fellowships to research students of all communities.
They threatened to intensify the protest if their demands were not met. ABVP leaders Sri Hari, Sri Sailam, Ramesh, Suman Shankar, Yella Swamy, Srinu, Jeevan, Suresh, Shiva and others were present.
