Barkatpura: Former Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said that it a the matter of pride for the party to have members who are dedicated to nation. He was speaking at the city BJP office during a programme organised to welcome new members into the party on Tuesday.

Former MLA Ramachandra Rao was also present. Several people, including railway outsourcing employees, labour, and intellectuals joined the party in the presence of Bandaru Dattatreya and Ramchander Rao.

On the occasion, Dattatreya said that the party membership drive received a tremendous response. He said that several educated people, intellectuals, employees and labour evinced interest to join the party. Criticising the TRS government, Dattatreya alleged that the state government had been taking advantage of several central government schemes for its schemes and has been misleading public.

Terming the central government led by Narendra Modi as labour-friendly government, former union minister said that the central government passed the minimum wages bill according to which every employee should get salary more than Rs 11,000.

About 32 crore Jan Dhan accounts had been opened and Rs 86,000 crore were deposited in them, which is an incredible feat achieved by Narendra Modi government, he said. Former union minister exuded confidence that BJP would form the next government in Telangana. Among those who joined BJP party were Dr T Dayal Singh, Dr Motilal Nagaria, Mahesh Kedia, Dr Umashankar Devkar and others.
