BRS launches grassroots drive for graduate MLC polls
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLAs and constituency incharges are intensifying efforts to reach out to the graduates constituency after being assigned targets to enroll maximum voters to ensure victory in upcoming Legislative Council elections. The party has deliberated on potential candidates for two key Graduates constituencies, namely Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam and Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad. Although formal declarations remain pending, internal sources confirm names including Kasani Veeresh for MBNR-RR-HYD and Rakesh Reddy for WRG-NLG-KHM have been finalized, with official announcements expected shortly.
While candidate selections near completion, party leadership has entrusted voter registration responsibilities and campaign management directly to elected MLAs and local incharges. Leaders disclosed that field officials were directed to accelerate graduate enrolment, engage voters through multiple interactive visits before polling, and educate electors on Council voting procedures. A former BRS legislator from Nalgonda district noted that during the previous election cycle he enrolled over 10,500 voters, adding he has already surpassed his current target by registering between 13,000 and 14,000 graduates through dedicated registration camps organized across his region.
In Hyderabad, urban party leaders are organizing extensive meetings to drive voter turnout within local constituencies. Former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav is overseeing enrolment operations across Hyderabad district by establishing registration camps within residential areas and gated communities. He has held dedicated interactive sessions with local graduates and teachers, urging eligible citizens to re-register their votes as mandated by Election Commission of India guidelines for every election cycle.
Additionally, BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has taken initiative by appointing dedicated constituency incharges for the MLC elections. These designated leaders are tasked with coordinating closely with local cadres and workers in their assigned areas to execute overall campaign strategies effectively. Party officials emphasized that continuous engagement at the grassroots level will remain the core focus until registration deadlines conclude, ensuring maximum turnout among educated electors to secure decisive victories across both council constituencies.
