CIPET Director's call to adopt plastic recycling

"There is a wrong notion among people about plastic. They think that plastic should be banned. But, it is because of the littering culture of the people that plastic has become dangerous. However, the ultimate blame is put on plastic. CIPET is trying its best to create awareness and educate people about the need to recycle and reuse plastic items properly, besides focusing on ways to replace conventional plastics with biodegradable polymers. There are vast opportunities available in healthcare, petrochemical and transportation industries for the students in the field.
Centre for Skilling and Technical Support (CSTS) was established in Hyderabad in 1987 for providing training & technical services to the plastics and allied Industries in the region. The centre is well-equipped with the state-of-art facilities in design, CAD/CAM/CAE, tooling, plastics processing, testing departments, in order to meet the customer requirements by providing quality training & technical services. The campus has full-fledged facilities at IDA in Cherlapally, including hostels for Girls & Boys, AVR Krishna said.
CIPET stands tall not only as a premier institute in the country, but also emerged as a global institution renowned for its research & development in the niche areas of polymer science & technology and high-quality education & skill development in the field of plastics. CIPET also plays pivotal role in generating employment opportunities, especially for unemployed and under-employed youth, promoting entrepreneurs though various skill development training programmes.
Additional Press Information Bureau (PIB) Director-General TVK Reddy said that plastic is a useful component, but people due to their habits force plastic to sound negative. Plastic is a key element in the day-to-day life, right from the morning toothbrush to the door knobs, electrical switches and so on, he said.
"If the demand for plastic increases, then there will be more technology, more employment opportunities and eventually growth of the society," he said.
