CM Revanth’s camp opposing move to give party posts to Konda family?

Hyderabad: Internal dynamics within Telangana Congress have come under sharp focus amid reported efforts by the party high command to accommodate former Minister Konda Surekha and her husband with key organisational positions. Party sources indicate that a section aligned with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is strongly opposed to any immediate move offering posts to the Konda family. The primary argument within the Chief Minister’s camp is that granting party responsibilities shortly after Konda Surekha’s removal from the State Cabinet could be perceived publicly and politically as a direct setback for Revanth Reddy’s faction.

The high command previously intervened following controversial public remarks made by Konda Surekha’s daughter targeting the Chief Minister, which subsequently led to Konda Surekha being dropped from her ministerial portfolio. However, party leadership remains keen to pacify the escalating situation and maintain internal unity by entrusting organisational responsibilities to Konda Surekha and her husband. Konda Surekha herself indicated during a press conference in Warangal a couple of days ago that such a proposal was currently under active consideration by high command officials.

These reported differences have raised critical questions regarding whether the Chief Minister’s camp will successfully delay or prevent party leadership from accommodating the Konda family in major organizational roles. The issue assumes immense significance amid ongoing deliberations regarding widespread party appointments across Telangana. Ultimately, the final decision rests entirely with the party high command.

Whether Konda Surekha and her husband receive organizational roles and when those appointments are announced will become clear shortly, with party sources suggesting a final decision may emerge following Ganesh festival celebrations.
