Abids: Members of the Telangana Four-Wheelers' Drivers Association working in the Commercial Taxes Commissionerate on Tuesday went on strike to protest against non-receipt of salaries for six months.

Leaders of the association alleged that there was no reaction from the officials despite taking the issue to the notice of CT Commissioner Anil Kumar. Hence, the members took such an extreme step, they stated. The leaders pointed out that the salaries could not be released because of non-clearance of bills.

Earlier, the members had resorted to a dharna after boycotting duty. They claimed that because of non-payment of salaries, the financiers were forcibly taking away vehicles that were taken on loan and that taking care of the families had become difficult.
