In the wake of the sudden rains in several parts of Hyderabad city, the GHMC has swung into action and took up relief measures in the city.
Hyderabad: In the wake of the sudden rains in several parts of Hyderabad city, the GHMC has swung into action and took up relief measures in the city. Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and Commissioner Dana Kishore alerted the engineers and monsoon emergency teams after the weather department warned that rains would be likely to occur in just a short period of time.
Enforcement Director Vishwajit Kampati reviewed the situation from control room. GHMC, using the Jet Dewatering machines removed water from the roads in major areas. Most of the complaints received by Dial 100 and GHMC Call Center were settled by the Monsoon emergency teams and disaster management teams within stipulated time.
The GHMC control room received information about the trees fall at Habsiguda Street No. 5, Chintal Bus stand, Kushaiguda Sub-Registrar's Office, Lalapet Ram Theater, Qutbullapur Jairam Nagar, Miyapur Swarnapudi Colony, Malkajgiri Anand Bagh Road.
Its rescue teams prevented traffic disruption as the tree fell on a car in Madura Nagar. Apart from these, GHMC also received information that trees fell at Neredmet Rambrahma nagar, Tolichowki Mohammadi lane. Disaster management teams immediately cut off power supply and removed the tree which fell on a power pole at ESI.
