Malkajgiri: The condition of the drainage in Malkajgiri has got worse as the drainage water has begun to overflow on the roads. A complaint to the MLA of the area was given before the elections, but no action has been taken yet.

Explaining the situation, one P Swamy said, "We have been facing this overflowing of drainage for a long time. We have been complaining about the issue to the authority concerned for a number of times but they never respond to it. Every time the only answer that we could receive from them was that they would take an action as soon as possible, but nothing has been done.

Before the assembly elections we locals contacted the MLA of our area as well. The common response has been that we'll handle the situation, but now when we try to contact him, he says there is no fund leftover. Why isn't the government taking any action on these issues? We find these drainage, bad roads, and garbage on the roads in many areas. It is the responsibility of the authorities to take action as soon as possible."

Anusha R, another resident of the area, said, "The overflowing of drainage is causing a lot of inconvenience to us. The water that is overflowed from drainage covers the complete road. Not only this, the enormous smell of the drainage is making difficult for us to even get out of our house even for a while. The time we open the doors and windows, we get this foul smell. This would also harm the health of the people leaving in this area."
