The people are worried that the drainage water may lead to mosquito menace and it is already emitting an unpleasant smell, causing a lot of inconvenience for nearby shopkeepers and those who travel from Old Safilguda to Vinayak Nagar or Malkajgiri.
Savitha R, a passenger of 16C bus, said, "I daily travel by this bus to Mettuguda bus stop. It is very difficult for us to wait for the buses in this area. After every 4-5 days, one can see this water stagnating just where the buses stop.
It becomes difficult for the people to get into the bus or alight from the bus. During the evening time, it becomes more difficult for the passengers because of the mosquitoes in this area."
