Tension prevails as some students get injured in the scuffle with cops during arrests

RTC X Roads: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) activists staged protest in front of Bus Bhavan to express solidarity to the striking RTC employees. When police foiled their attempt to lay siege to Bus Bhavan, the activists sat on the road to protest.

They were later arrested by police. Tension prevailed during the protest, as some student leaders were injured in their scuffle with police. Speaking to media persons, DYFI state President Viplav Kumar alleged that many students were injured due to high-handedness of police during the protest.

He said that precious lives were lost due to the irresponsible comments made by the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, while the RTC employees are on strike. He demanded the government to take care of the families of RTC employees who committed suicide and declared ex-gratia.

He alleged that KCR family and his followers are trying to occupy RTC lands by privatizing it. Holding government responsible for RTC losses, he said that if the government could stop collecting taxes on Diesel, losses could be prevented.

DYFI Hyderabad secretary Mahender, Medchal district secretary Rajashekhar, Hyderabad south secretary Krishna Naik, activists Balaram, Anjaneyulu, Kiran, Sai, Nagesh and others participated in the protest.
