Even light spell throws traffic out of gear
A few minutes of rainfall choked the already narrow roads in various parts of the Old City on Monday. Motorists who at first heaved a sigh of relief from the scotching heat were caught in the long traffic snarls. Heavy traffic jams werealso witnessed in Darulshifa, Chaderghat, Malakpet and Dilshukhnagar.
Chaderghat: A few minutes of rainfall choked the already narrow roads in various parts of the Old City on Monday. Motorists who at first heaved a sigh of relief from the scotching heat were caught in the long traffic snarls. Heavy traffic jams werealso witnessed in Darulshifa, Chaderghat, Malakpet and Dilshukhnagar.
Meanwhile, the GHMC South Zone swung into action, following the rainfall, and cleared the stagnation points at different locations in the city. GHMC workers were seen clearing water stagnation points at Kandikal Gate (near flyover) by monsoon emergency team in Uppuguda division. Another team cleared water stagnation at Sama Narasimha Reddy Garden under IS Sadan division at Santosh Nagar Circle.
A different team headed towards Yakutpura and cleared the water stagnation under Railway under Bridge (RuB) at Rein Bazaar division. Another team was seen clearing off the sludge, which was accumulated following the rainfall, at Saraswati Nagar Kaman in Saidabad and Golnaka Bridge in Old Malakpet.
