Hyderabad: 10,000 saplings planted in Gachibowli stadium

Hyderabad: "Trees play an important role in the survival of mankind," said Mayor Bonthu Rammohan. The Mayor, along with Government whip Arekapudi Gandhi, MP J Santhosh Kumar and badminton player Pullela Gopichand, conducted plantation programme at Gachibowli Stadium on Monday on the occasion of CM KCR's 66th birthday. Nearly 10,000 plant saplings were planted.
Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said, "This initiative should bring about a change in atmosphere and health conditions of human beings. Taking green challenge as inspiration, plantation was done in all wards in the city." He appreciated Indian Oil Corporation for making a step forward and planting 10,000 saplings in an acre area. He instructed students to participate in Haritha Haram programme. Corporator Sai Baba, Serilingampalli ZC S Ravi Kiran, IOC general manager Satyanarayana and others were present.
