Jubilee Bus Stand: After the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees launched strike on October 5, travel plans of a lot of passengers to visit the native place for Dasara went haywire causing the Jubilee Bus Stand (JBS) face a loss of Rs 67 lakh in the 10 days.

S Praneeth, Depot Manager, JBS, told The Hans India that the impact of the strike had drastically affected the revenue generated from tickets as many passengers preferred traveling by trains and private vehicles during the strikes.

On a normal day, the revenue generated from sale of tickets at JBS stood around Rs 10 lakh. However, due to the current strike, the figure has fallen to Rs 2.3 to 3 lakh causing the depot to face a loss of Rs 7.5 lakh per day. Conductors to get trained to operate ticketing machines

The private conductors who have enrolled their names to work temporarily during the strike period, are likely to get trained for two days to operate the ticketing machines.

The Depot Manager said in the present scenario, it was difficult to maintain the record of passengers and tickets. "The private conductors are not trained to operate the ticketing machines which are creating confusion in tallying the amount at the end of the day.

If there is any difference between the passenger count and the collected amount then the remaining amount would be deducted from the conductor's daily salary of Rs 1, 000," The Manager has asked the RTC officials to consider the request and appoint someone for the training.
