Old Alwal: The residents of BHEL Colony have given up on the GHMC and taken up the cleaning up of roads on themsleves. The road has become filthy with all the garbage being dumped on one corner.
Speaking to The Hans India here on Sunday, S Neelu, a commuter, said, "The locals cannot commute, as half of the road has been covered with unwanted waste and it is uneasy to walk in the monsoon season. The waste is cleared once in a month here."
K Sanjay, a resident, said, "The garbage in the area is cleared only occasionally. When we complained to the authorities concerned, no one responded. So, the residents had to clean up the trash and put it aside."
