Locals stop officials from felling tree

Bagh Lingampally: Locals prevented officials from cutting a tree here on Monday. Based on the complaint given by the local BJP leader that the tree roots were damaging a MIG flat, horticulture staff were about to cut the tree, but the locals and representatives of voluntary organisation 'Hyderabad Zindabad' staged protest and demanded the officials to stop cutting the tree.

Speaking on the occasion, representative of 'Hyderabad Zindabad' Vijay said that they prevented officials from cutting the tree. He condemned the forest officials for cutting huge trees in the city on the pretext of petty reasons despite the increase in pollution in the city.
