Under the leadership of Balakrishna Guruswamy, 140 Ayyappa devotees set out on ‘Maha Padayatra’ from Kanaka Durga and Nagalakshmi temple at Basheerbagh to Sabarimalai on Sunday.

Basheerbagh: Under the leadership of Balakrishna Guruswamy, 140 Ayyappa devotees set out on 'Maha Padayatra' from Kanaka Durga and Nagalakshmi temple at Basheerbagh to Sabarimalai on Sunday.

Earlier, they perfomed 'Ganapathi Homam,' followed by Irumudi and AyyappaRatha Puja. The 140 Ayyappa devotees from Telangana would walk all the way to Shabarimalai crossing five states AP, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for about 1,200 km for 38 days and reach Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala on November 26.

Among those who participated in the devotional programme were Ayyappa devotees Raghnath, Raj Desai, Pavan Kumar, Lokesh Kumar, Sairam, Hanumanth Rao and their families.
