Hyderabad: Mega star Chiranjeevi opposed the move to privatise the Visakha Steel Plant. In a tweet on Wednesday, he said the slogan of 'Visakha Ukku-Andhrula Hakku' is still ringing in his ears.

As a college student, he said he held a brush in his hands and wrote on the walls demanding a steel plant in Vizag.

Chiranjeevi recalled that about 35 people, including a nine-year-old boy had lost their lives in the agitation.

He said it was unfortunate that the Centre was trying to privatise the steel plant.
