Minister Gangula Kamalakar urged to address BCs' issues
Minister for BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar held a meeting with leaders of BC Welfare Association at the welfare office here on Monday.
Khairatabad: Minister for BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar held a meeting with leaders of BC Welfare Association at the welfare office here on Monday.
BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah explained the problems of BC community. He sought that the government should pay tuition fees for students belonging to BC community who are studying engineering, pharmacy, MBA, MCA, intermediate and PG Courses irrespective of the ranks they obtained.
"Mess charges for hostel students should be increased to Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,000. Students of government residential schools are facing hardships for want of amenities. The schools are being run in rented premises.
Rs 600 cr should be sanctioned towards construction of government residential school buildings. Rs 2,920 crore sanctioned towards implementing BC policy should be increased to Rs 10,000 crore," he added.
Responding positively, the minister assured the association members that he would solve the problems after holding a high-level meeting. G Krishna, N Venkatesh, G Krishna Yadav, J Anji, A Ram Koti and others were present.
