Rajiv Sadbhavana Yatra to be held on Oct 19
The Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee will celebrate Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day at Charminar on October 19. AICC leader in-charge of Telangana State party affairs RC Khuntia will hoist the party flag.
Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Committee will celebrate Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day at Charminar on October 19. AICC leader in-charge of Telangana State party affairs RC Khuntia will hoist the party flag.
According to a statement, G Niranjan said late Rajiv Gandhi hoisted the party flag at the venue and commenced his Sadbhavana Yatra in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad on October 19, 1990. The Sadbhavana Yatra is being observed on this day as Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration Day for the last 29 years.
The Sadbhavana Award selection committee consisting of B Kamalakar Rao, former-MLC and A Shyam Mohan, Chairman, Intellectual Cell, TPCC, have selected Prof A Gopal Kishan, a freedom fighter, and emeritus professor of Nephrology and former Superintendent of Osmania General Hospital for conferring an award on him. Mohan was the general secretary of National Students Union of India during 1956-57.
AICC Secretaries Bose Raju, Saleem, Ahmed and Sreenivasan Krishnan, former PCC presidents, V. Hanumanth Rao, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, M.A Khan, MP; former Minister J. Geetha Reddy, Marri Shashidhar Reddy, Mohd. Ali Shabbir, Greater Hyderabad Congress party president M Anjan Kumar Yadav, P Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, former MLA and others will participate in the programme.
