Ramnagar: Residents of Shivasthanpur of Ramnagar division have expressed their anger on the indifference of GHMC officials and local public representatives in addressing drainage overflow in the colony. Locals alleged that the contractor of the ongoing CC road works in the colony had destroyed drainage pipelines and manholes, resulting in leakage of sewerage.

The overflowing sewerage on the road has been emanating foul smell, causing a lot of inconvenience to locals. Locals, speaking to THI, expressed concern that water logging may result in breeding of mosquitoes and spread of viral diseases.

On receiving information on the issue, local corporator V Srinivas Reddy visited the spot along with GHMC officials and the contractor and inspected the damaged manholes and pipelines. He instructed the officials and the contractor of CC roads to repair the manholes and address the issue at the earliest.

Jalamandali officials Hakeem, A Murali, work inspector Ravi, contractor Jaya Karan, local leaders Ravi Chari, TRS leaders Prakash Reddy, Shyam Kumar and others were present.
