  • Novel move by Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad
  • Brings candidates under one roof, apprises problems, gets assurances

Secunderabad: Federation of North Eastern Colonies of Secunderabad (FNECS) organised an interaction session with Ward 136 (Neredmet) contesting candidates K Meena Reddy (TRS), Prasanna Naidu (BJP) and Mariyamma Iype (INC) on Sunday.

The members of FNECS are very clear in their demands. They jotted down major issues on the paper and got signatures from contesting candidates as assurance to solve them. Each of the candidates promised that they would look into the civic issues and take up development works at the earliest if elected to power. Reopening of Cantonment Roads, improvement of junctions at Yapral, Kandiguda, Ammuguda and Hanuman Temple, widening of roads, inclusion of the area under SRDP and development programmes, resolution of the perennial water logging problem and rejuvenation of RK Puram lake are some of the key demands of the members.

FNECS Secretary CH Chandrasekhar said that residents are facing various issues for several years. "Closure of 21 Cantonment roads has become a big hurdle for commuting. Almost all the roads over here are in bad condition. We've demanded the candidates that a stormwater drain should be constructed from CDM to Kapra lake and from Netaji Nagar to Kapra lake. We also asked them to rejuvenate the RK Puram lake," he added.
