Anandbagh: The residents of Anantha Saraswati Nagar East Anandbagh have been facing stray menace for the last few months, which has of late worsened.

The locals allege that the population of stray dogs has increased rapidly in the last few months and there has been no satisfactory help from the GHMC to curb the population. C Laxma, a local resident, shares, "People can't get out of their houses after dark as the dogs attack whoever they see coming walking.

Earlier there were six to seven dogs but now the number has increased to 12. We have informed the GHMC multiple times but we are not satisfied with the solution.""Locals have now started to take stick and stones with them while going out in the dark for their safety."

GHMC Deputy Commissioner T Dashrath said, "Necessary actions will be taken by the veterinary department on the stray issue and electrical department will install lights in all the areas."
