Secretariat: Central committee president of BC students' association Vikram Goud, along with other student leaders, met the State Education Department Secretary Janardhan Reddy here on Wednesday and submitted a memorandum demanding action against private engineering colleges which sell their B category seats.

Speaking to media after his meeting with education secretary, Vikram Goud alleged that private engineering college managements were selling their B category seats for lakhs of rupees, ignoring the government norms in this regard. He said he has given a memorandum to the education secretary to take stringent action against managements who have commercialised education.

Colleges, most of which are owned by MLAs, MPs and other public representative, are not only selling seats against government norms but also fleecing pockets of parents. He said that poor parents were finding it to continue their wards' studies as it has become too expensive.

Citing PD Act cases against vendors of spurious seeds, he demanded to the state government to file criminal cases against private managements which sell B category seats and cancel permissions given to the colleges.

Among those who accompanied Vikram Goud include working president of BC student association R Naresh, state secretary Indran Rajaka, Pramod Kumar, Venkatesh, Nikhil, Nagaraju and others.
