Malkajgiri: About 200 students of ZP school at Neredmet were handed over free bus passes at a programme at the school by TSRTC Cantonment depot manager Krishnamurthy and deputy depot manager Lavanya on Thursday.

A private borewell company Manikanta Borewells sponsored the free bus passes. Borewell company owners Lakshminarayana and B Venkat Reddy attended the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Krishnamurthy noted that many in the higher positions studied in government schools and advised the students to study hard and bring fame to the school as well as to their teachers and parents.

Venkat Reddy said that they too had their primary education at government schools and attributed his success in life to the education he received from such school. He said many poor students were discontinuing their studies due poverty and their inability to pay for bus passes, hence they had come forward to help poor students.

Lakshmi Narayana said that their company was ready to provide any help needed by the school, and promised to pay Rs 5,000 for the students securing first and second ranks in the next SSC exams. School headmaster Gopal, teaching and non-teaching staff and students attended the programme.
