Patancheru: The revenue department employees in Patancheru constituency on Monday expressed their ire at the murder of Abdullpurmet Tahsildar Vijaya Reddy earlier during the day and demonstrated at the department office here wearing black badges.

They raised slogans of 'Vijaya Reddy Amar Hai,' while demanding stringent punishment to the accused. Expressing shock over the murder, the employees described the broad day-light incident of setting the victim on fire at her office as a 'heinous' and 'dastardly act'.

They questioned how they could discharge duty in the absence of safety and security. Addressing them, local Tahsildar Yadi Reddy stated that he was shocked by the attack during office hours. In such a scenario it would not be possible to discharge duty, he asserted.

Reddy wanted the government to provide protection to the employees and hang the accused in the murder case. Among those present during the demonstration were department officials Anantalakshmi, Yadagiri, Archana, Deekshit and other staff.
