This gave rise to regional differences among them and near-exchange of blows. Intervention by the police brought the situation under control.

Collector M V Reddy, who got details of the tenders submitted since the morning, later announced the completion of the process. He advised the department officials to work in coordination and to take precautions so to ensure that none is inconvenienced. Reddy maintained that regional feelings should be shunned as anyone from any region had a right to submit tenders. He warned of stringent action if anyone created trouble.
