TRS govt slammed for anti-BC stance
BC Welfare Association staged a protest here on Friday demanding 50 per cent reservations to BCs in legislature. Speaking on the occasion, leaders accused CM KCR of taking an anti-BC stance, and said he took several measures antagonistic to BCs such as decrease in fund allocation for BC welfare, reduction of BC reservations in various elections and improper implementation of reservations in recruitments.
Condemning cut in fund allocation, leaders alleged that the CM KCR had been trying to keep away BCs, SCs, STs and minorities away from development. The speakers also dismissed the CM's contention that the state government revenues came down due to adverse financial conditions in the country.
While lakhs of crore were taken as loans by the state government, it was denying BCs their share. The Speakers also lamented indifference of various political parties towards BC issues. About 70 crore BCs are being deprived of their share in education, employment and politics, they lamented. Some speakers demanded an inquiry into irregularities committed during allotting medical seats to BC students.
R Krishnaiah, speaking during the protest, said that his ultimate goal was to provide 50 per cent reservations in legislative bodies to BCs. He urged BCs to stage united fight against injustice being done to them and achieve political, economical and social equality through united movement.
Among those who participated in the protest were BC leaders Gujja Krishna, Neela Venkatesh, Jillapalli Anji, Vemula Ramakrishna, Ashok Goud, Rama Devi, Nookalamma, Vengal Rao, Lingayya Yadav, Mahesh Yadav, Sai Kartik and others.
