Kacheguda: The striking RTC employees on Sunday staged a demonstration at Kacheguda depot by squatting on their knees to protest against the comments of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the strike and against the RTC after Saturday's cabinet meeting.

The leaders accused KCR of "crossing limits" while making comments and fixing deadlines for the employees to rejoin duty in a threatening tone. "This was like sprinkling chilly power on injuries." The leaders stated that KCR's announcement of privatising 50 per cent RTC buses would further antagonise the employees. They criticised the government for blaming the unions for the 21 deaths of employees so far.

They pointed out that 1,200 deaths occurred during the separate Telangana agitation for which KCR alone would be held responsible. Among those present at the meeting were Sudarshan (Shiv Sena), JAC leaders N Venkatesham, T V Reddy, Govind Rao, Rajitha, Ashok.
