KCR prioritised quality healthcare: Vaddiraju
Kothagudem “Former Chief Minister and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao accorded top priority to providing quality healthcare services to all sections of society during his ten-year tenure,” BRS Parliamentary Party leader and Rajya Sabha member Vaddiraju Ravichandra said.
He was speaking at the 10th annual conference of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Telangana State branch, in Bhadradri Kothagudem district headquarters on Sunday. Ravichandra said the creation of 23 new districts and the establishment of medical and nursing colleges during the BRS government had significantly strengthened the state’s healthcare infrastructure. “With the vision and encouragement of KCR, Hyderabad had transformed into a major medical hub, attracting patients not only from different states but also from several countries for advanced medical treatment,” he said. The MP appreciated the contribution of doctors during the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that they worked tirelessly and remained available to save precious lives during the health emergency.
He also mentioned that his family had several members in the medical profession, including his daughter Gangabhavani and his elder brother’s son-in-law Venkat.
Ravichandra welcomed the decision to organise the IMA’s annual conference outside Hyderabad and Warangal for the first time and appreciated the newly elected president from Kothagudem for assuming office. On the occasion, the MP felicitated the guests with shawls and conveyed his greetings. Padma Shri awardees Dr B Somaraju, Dr A Gopalakrishna Gokhale and Dr Suryaprakash Rao attended the conference. Newly elected IMA president Dr Vijay Kumar, Dr Praveen Reddy, Dr Manish Kumar Jain, and senior BRS leader Dindigala Rajender were among those present.
