EPFO services on WhatsApp
New Delhi: Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya launched EPFO services on WhatsApp. EPF subscribers will now be able to check their PF balance, five new transactions and passbook details through EPFO's verified WhatsApp service.
The service will also provide personalised guidance and assistance for needs related to PMVBRY. This will make everyday services available on mobile phones and reduce the need to visit EPFO offices.
At the 74th EPFO Foundation Day event, Mandaviya also launched a facility for the automatic settlement of inactive EPF accounts.
According to a statement from the Labour Ministry, subscribers will be able to check their PF balance and five new transactions through EPFO's verified WhatsApp service. They will also be able to access their passbook details. The service will be available on a verified mobile platform. This will reduce the need to visit EPFO offices for routine tasks. Separate claims will not have to be filed for Aadhaar-verified inactive EPF accounts with balances of up to ₹1,000. EPFO will begin the settlement process after verifying the identity and bank account through the prescribed procedure.
The money will then be transferred to the bank accounts. Around one lakh accounts are expected to benefit from this. These accounts have a combined balance of ₹5 crore.
