Tirupati: State Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar stated that continuous efforts are underway to supply quality and uninterrupted power to consumers in accordance with Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s vision.

Reviewing APSPDCL operations in Tirupati on Tuesday, the Minister highlighted that Andhra Pradesh is rapidly transitioning toward clean energy, with agreements finalized for 100 GW generation capacity projects currently under implementation.

Addressing low hydropower generation caused by El Niño, the state is strengthening thermal and solar reliance. To boost manpower, 629 Assistant Executive Engineers will soon be recruited.

The Minister praised APSPDCL for installing one lakh rooftop solar systems in six months under the PM Surya Ghar scheme, placing AP fourth nationally, while warning delayed contractors of strict action.

Furthermore, RDSS works are being fast-tracked to fortify the distribution network, and consumer helplines like 1912 are being reinforced. Safety measures to fix risky lines and prevent transformer theft were also mandated.

During the programme, compassionate appointment letters were handed over to 46 candidates, raising total discom hires to 215 under the coalition government.
