Warangal: The TRS people's representatives and Warangal Urban District administration appear to be in a jiffy to make arrangements for the one-day tour of the MA & UD Minister KT Rama Rao to Warangal on January 4. KTR is scheduled to inaugurate a few development projects besides laying foundation stone for some others in the city.

Against this backdrop, Minister for Panchayat Raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao along with government Chief Whip D Vinay Bhaskar, Mayor Gunda Prakash Rao, legislators K Srihari, Aroori Ramesh, Challa Dharma Reddy, KUDA Chairman Marri Yadava Reddy, Urban District Collector Rajeev Gandhi Hanumanthu and Municipal Commissioner Pamela Satpathy reviewed the progress of various ongoing works, here, on Sunday. They focused on development works that came up for discussion during their meeting with KTR in Hyderabad on December 21.

The Minister asked the officials to speed up the pipeline works so as to supply drinking water to all the households in the city. Ensure Re 1 tap water connection to all the households in slums, he added. He also told the officials to expedite the repairing of roads that were damaged in torrential rains a few months ago. Referring to the staff crunch, he directed the officials to depute engineers from other departments. "The Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) has spent Rs 1,000 crore for the Mission Bhagiratha programme," Errabelli said, referring to their plans to supply drinking water in the city.

KTR will inaugurate the double bedroom houses and lay foundation stone for the night shelters, Vaikunta Dhamams, road works, etc., besides distribution of pattas to the poor, the Minister said, directing officials to make arrangements.
