Warangal: The Chemical Engineering Association (ChEA) and Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (IIChE) in association with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), NSS and NIT Warangal organised a rally to create awareness to promote energy conservation and sustainability as a part of CONSERVECKA, a week-long convention, which is organised to promote energy conservation awareness amongst the masses.

Prof A Venugopal, Dean (Academic) who flagged off the rally here on Sunday, said that energy conservation is often the most inexpensive solution to energy shortages, and it is the most environment-friendly alternative to increased energy production and its related side effects. But unfortunately, conservation of energy is hardly in practice due to the lack of awareness among people.

He said that there is a big challenge ahead of mankind to conserve natural resources. Prof Shireesh Sonawane, Head of Chemical Engineering Department, faculty and students participated in the rally that culminated at the Warangal Urban Collectorate.
