Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police has invoked Preventive Detention (PD) Act against two government teachers who were arrested a few days ago for sending obscene and derogatory messages to a girl student of class IX. The accused were identified as Srikanth and Surender from Shabad in Ranga Reddy.

According to police, the classes were going online for the students and when the girl student asked doubts about a particular subject, the accused duo teachers Srikanth and Surender offered her help only if she approached them individually. When the girl contacted them through Whatsapp, the duo sent her obscene photos and videos and informed her that they will help her score good grades only if she cooperates with them.

However, the girl brought the matter before her parents, who then lodged a police complaint. Based on the complaint, the investigation began and the teachers were arrested a few days ago and on Saturday the Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, V C Sajjanar has ordered for the teachers to be booked under PD Act.
