NEW DELHI: A notice of defamation has been sent by Gautam Gambhir to three AAP leaders, chief of Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and the Lok Sabha candidate of AAP Atishi.

As the BJP candidate for East Delhi, Gautam Gambhir has been accused of distributing "derogatory" and "casteist pamphlets" against Atishi.

On Thursday at a press conference, Atishi claimed the "derogatory notes" were distributed by Gautam Gambhir at a BJP rally in Delhi before the voting.

Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia, had also accused Gautam Gambhir of circulating pamphlets in an attempt to defame the AAP candidate.

Arvind Kejriwal, wrote on his Twitter account by saying, "How can women expect safety if people with such mentality are voted? Atishi, stay strong. I can imagine how difficult it must be for you. It is precisely this kind of forces we have to fight against."

Gautam Gambhir, however, had rubbished the allegations made by the AAP leaders and said that, to win the election, Arvind Kejriwal is a "filth" who is "outraging the modesty of a woman".
